In honour of International Women’s Day

What is The Sacred Feminine?

I’ve often been asked..

The Feminine is the aspect within you (no matter your gender or how you identify) that embraces love, connection, collaboration, creativity, inclusion, beauty, empowerment, wisdom, earth, body, and the power of rebirth.

“The Sacred” restores the Feminine to her rightful place of innate divinity and sovereignty.

She has been forgotten and repressed for far too long. But we are waking up. After centuries of separation, subjugation and suppression, we are remembering The Sacred Feminine.

She has been there all along. We are the ones who have forgotten, living out of alignment with nature, and our own true nature as spiritual beings here to grow and expand love.

Some say, this dark time is the most exciting time to be one the planet. How could you say that with everything going on in the world, you might ask.

Consider and celebrate how far we’ve come in the last century alone with the abolition of slavery, women’s rights, and more recently, the me too and black lives matter movements. Yes, there is still work to do and systems of oppression to dismantle, but this is arguably the most empowered time to be alive and the most freedom women have ever experienced.

The potential for evolution is at its highest. Some believe, our soul chose to be here at this time to be part of the immense transformation that is taking place.

They say, we are in the midst of birthing a new humanity. And that right now, we are in the birth canal. We’ve left the comfort of “how things were” in the womb and we don’t know what's next. There is immense pressure, it's uncomfortable and dark. We feel stuck and it seems as though there is no way out. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

To emerge and evolve into who you’re here to be, trust in the process of rebirth and a willingness to keep going are required. To feel exhausted and unclear, yet willing to show up and see where the journey leads.

This is the energy of spring and the power of the mother. To birth, to bloom, to shed and to begin again.

What is needed now is for each of us to embrace the feminine and come into rhythm with the earth. To commit to practices that feed our soul hope, bring us home to our body and the fertility of this moment.

We must be willing to release patterns of fear and tension so we can free our innate creativity (shakti) and focus on what matters most: creating more connection, love, and healing.

On this international women’s day, express appreciation for the women in your life. Call your mom and your sister. Put your hands in the soil. Plant seeds, water your garden. Move your body out of love for yourself. Cry the tears, pray for Ukraine and know that your gifts are needed here. Focus on what you want to grow.

Rebirth is happening.
